- 简介：In the last decades, there have been fundamental changes in research methods and theories in linguistics and dialect studies. Structuralism and mathematical linguistics have brought us important new insights into the essence and structure of language. Semantics and sociology of language have added to our understanding. Zeitschrift für Dialektologie und Linguistik (ZDL), founded in 1900 as Zeitschrift für hochdeutsche Mundarten, analyses and discusses all these aspects and changes in connection with linguistics and dialect studies. It is an international, peer-reviewed journal, featuring original articles in German and English. ZDL is edited by Jürgen Erich Schmidt in collaboration with Michael Elmentaler and Jürg Fleischer.
