- 简介：The Massachusetts Historical Review and its predecessor, the Proceedings of the Massachusetts Historical Society, have brought their readers superb historical writing on Boston, Massachusetts, and New England as well as on relevant topics in American history since before the Civil War. From 1859 to 1997, the Proceedings captured the dynamic intellectual achievements and contributions to historical scholarship of the Society's members and friends. In addition to essays and edited documents, each issue included an annual report that chronicled activities of the Society, the oldest institution of its kind in the United States. The Massachusetts Historical Review, introduced in 1999, is the Society's current journal. It brings readers essays rich in narrative and thoughtful analysis, as well as photo-essays, edited historical documents, and review articles.
